Whether you're a trained professional looking to break into your industry in Canada, or a newcomer with limited work experience looking for a job - in the next two weeks, we've got events to help you find employment.

Let's Work Together! Free Workshop for Newcomers Please join us August 23rd for the last employment workshop of our summer series where a certified career practitioner will guide you through the use of information interviewing to gain career direction and increase your job search network. We'll also learn about important library resources to support your job search. Free childcare provided! Parents with school-aged children are welcome to bring them to the Family Conversation Circle while attending the workshop. Please see the linked posters for registration information. 

Career Paths Info Session in North Vancouver- Join us August 31st at the North Vancouver City Library for an information session on a program designed to support skilled professional begin their careers in engineering, construction and IT. Opportunities for credential evaluation, funded skills upgrading, mentorship and work placements. Bring your resume and PR card for pre-screening. Register to reserve your seat - see poster for registration information.

Skills and Supports for Job Success - A free employment program that includes short term training, employment workshops, work experience opportunities and employer connections. This program will prepare you for employment and help you at every step of your job search.  There are 2 upcoming sessions: Coquitlam session (for Coquitlam residents) begins on September 11th and the Vancouver session begins September 25th.
  
Skills and Supports for Job Success BASICS We offer specialized sessions of our Job Success program for newcomers with lower levels of English (LINC 4/5). This 10-week program includes 5 weeks of classes and a five weeks of work experience/supported job search to help participants gain local work experience and a reference. Our program staff will also follow up with you for 12 weeks after program completion to offer support while you're on the job or while you continue your job search. Introduction to Culinary Skills - Program runs October 2, 2017 - March 31, 2018 at Vancouver Community College.

Entry to Hospitality Careers for Women - Program runs September 11 - November 30, 2017 and December 11, 2017 - March 9, 2018 at Vancouver Community College.

Building Service Worker Plus -  Program runs November 27, 2017 - February 23, 2018 at Vancouver Community College.
  
Office Assistant Training Program - Office Admin Certificate program runs September 5, 2017 - February 9, 2018, and Medical Office Certificate program runs September 25, 2017 - March 2, 2018 at Vancouver Community College.
