To Hell with Auto Blogging - Digi Traffic Multiplier is Fantastic!

Yesterday we invested in a couple of pieces of new software one which is a WordPress Plugin called Digi Traffic Multiplier and we must confess it works fantastically!

You can see for yourself what we have done with it on our new DSL web site that we have not yet totally completed and it is working its magic already :-)

We made the category and the plugin made the post :-) It was extremely simple to setup and comes with extreme detailed video instructions - in our opinion anyone whom can log into thier Wordpress Back Office can install and use it.

Rather then go into a long explanation of the software here, what it does, and how it works ..... visit the authors web site here where you can view a video, get a complete description, and until March 8th get a whopping 66% OFF the regular price.

Expert advice that drives me crazy

From Bob Serling's Lab Rants .....

Just like you, each week I receive emails from many
different business and marketing experts. A common
theme I've recently been seeing is an expert - either
in their own emails or in articles from respected trade
journals - proclaiming one marketing method or the
other as the only way to market. It goes something
like this:

    * Video marketing clobbers all others, ignore
        it at your own peril

    * Face book is the only way to market, all old
school methods are useless or dead

    * Direct mail is mounting a major comeback, forget
about all those cluttered online methods

    * Mobile is the future of marketing - get on board
now or you'll be left behind

So why does all of this drive me crazy? I mean nearly
stark raving mad??

Because it's all a load of crap.

The partial truth - and then the full truth

The partial truth is this: all of the statements above,
if neutered of their hyperbole, are good advice. What
I mean is that all of the marketing methods these experts are touting can work well for your business. So from that standpoint, they're all partially true.

The part that isn't true is the claim that one marketing
method is any better than the other - or that it's on the
verge of rendering all the other marketing methods
useless. That's simply false, and worse, could  be very
damaging if you buy into it.

The full truth is this: different marketing methods work
better than others for different types of businesses. Oops, sorry to inject a bit of common sense in here, but I'm guessing you already knew this. But bad advice from recognized experts can make you question what you instinctively know.

So this naturally leads us to the question...

How the heck am I supposed to know which
marketing methods really work best for MY business?

So glad you asked. It's really quite simple. The jumping
off point for determining the best marketing methods
for your business is this:

Go where your prospects and customers
    already gather

If you're selling accounting systems to chiropractors,
then direct mail and space ads in trade journals for
chiropractors are the most likely places where your
prospects "gather".

If you're selling ring tones featuring rap groups or
action sports athletes, then Face book ads to
demographically selected groups and banner ads on
fan sites would be the "gathering spots" you're
looking for.

Selling to senior citizens? For the most part, online
marketing is NOT where you want to go as seniors
still tend to be less technically savvy. So direct mail
and radio are great "gathering" options.

The bottom line is that you must know your customer.
Get to know their habits, get to know their likes and
dislikes, get to know the most critical problems they
want to solve and the driving goals they want to
achieve. Once you do that, it's reasonably easy to
figure out where they "gather" and use the appropriate
marketing methods to reach out to them.

Final sanity check

Remember to "check" what any expert tells you against
common sense. It's easy to take what someone has
written, or what a trade journal has published, as the
unvarnished truth. But if your gut is telling you something is off, 99% of the time, you're going to be right.

Dig a bit deeper, ask people whose opinions you respect, and learn to be a bit skeptical. Doing so will help you avoid costly mistakes that could prevent you from achieving your marketing goals.

Yours for more traffic... more sales... more often,

Bob Serling

Congratulations Reed Floren on your new Baby Boy!

Our good friend Bob - whom our regular readers know we spelled his name backwards so nobody will know whom we are talking about - wrote in on the 25th of February asking how Reed Floren's Pot of Gold Gifts Giveaway had already 90 members when the event is not scheduled to open until the 17th of March?

That was a very good question, so going right after it to find out ourselves I wrote to Reed and this is what he had to say :-)

Hi Joe,

Sorry for the delay was in the hospital (baby boy #2 came out), before we went in I had tested the sign up page and then forgot to turn it off. I will go turn it off now.

Nice guy and if it were me the last thing I would have been thinking about at that moment is IM ..... and Reed this certainly works for me :-)

Congratulations Reed Floren and Mrs. Floren on your brand new addition to your family :-) and now I know they need the money ;-) ..... lol

Bob Replies:

Hello Joe,
Yes, he forgot about everything the stats page says Stats Updated Every 4912 Minutes,
but I personally find it not honest, because there are already 200 members in the event,
and the event even not started, for his prizes the contributors who have already member
referrals have a head start ?

Bob you definitely have a valid point considering the contest - I did not think about it because personally I am unconcerned about the contest.

In addition, there is definitely something wrong about the stats minutes because they come out to 81 days and the event from start to finish including both contributor and member phases are not that long - Bizarre .....

Joe :-)

Police state update: You won't believe what the TSA is doing now

Top free market economist: Why you should support the public union thugs

The Fourth Amendment (Amendment IV) to the US Constitution

From SHTF Plan:

According to a first-hand video account from a train station in Savannah, Georgia, the Transportation Security Administration is now performing security pat-downs and bag searches AFTER passengers disembark from their trips.

First Hand Account as Reported by the Videographer :

The only bad thing on our trip was TSA was at the Savannah train station. There were about 14 agents pulling people inside the building and corralling everyone in a roped area AFTER you got OFF THE TRAIN! This made no sense!!!

Poor family in front of us! 9 year old getting patted down and wanded. They groped our people too and were very unprofessional.

I am all about security, but when have you ever been harassed and felt up getting OFF a plane? Shouldn’t they be doing that getting ON??? And they wonder why so many people are mad at them.

We realize that this will fall on deaf ears, but...

From Economic Policy Journal:

This is not likely to make it into the union's PR packet of economist professors supporting the union, but Block has it correct, this is a battle of two thugs:

More than a few people have asked me where I stand on the controversy between Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and the public employee unions against which he is contending.

I favor the union thugs, not the government thugs. For me, it’s like Stalin versus Hitler: a pox on both of them. But I like to root for the underdog, the weaker of the two bad guys, and that's the union in this case. I do so because I want the fight to long continue, so that both are weakened as much as possible. The state has more guns, better public relations (they have bought off more journalists, intellectuals, clergy, and others of Hayek's "second hand dealers in ideas") than the unions.

So if we want the battle to weaken the both of them, we must support, ugh (no, double ugh!) organized labor. Also, it is my judgment that the government is a worse violator of human and economic liberties than are the unions, bad as are the latter.

The essence of Block's argument is that this is not a battle of less government versus more government, but a battle over...
We realize that this will fall on deaf ears with the Law Breaking Criminal US Police State Government, but it’s worth pointing out that there’s this old Constitutional amendment that was designed to protect the American people from this exact type of violation of personal liberty:

The Fourth Amendment (Amendment IV) to the United States Constitution

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

At the onset of the backscatter and pat down controversy in 2010 we opined that TSA airport security was just a stepping stone to the next level of government intrusion into our lives... BEWARE
